Accepting new patients

Dentistry without the wait or the upsell.

A small independent practice on Fernbank Row. Check-ups, hygiene and the work you actually need — explained properly, priced up front, and never sold to you in the chair.

What we do here

General dentistry, done unhurriedly.

Anything we cannot do well, we refer rather than attempt. A specialist doing it every day beats us learning on your money.

A treatment room between appointments

Check-ups and hygiene

Forty minutes, unhurried. You are told what we can see and what, if anything, is worth doing about it — including when the answer is nothing.

Fillings and crowns

Priced before we begin. We will show you the photograph and explain why it needs doing, or why it can safely wait another year.

In pain today

Slots are held back every morning for emergencies. Call before ten and you will almost always be seen the same day.

Cosmetic work

Whitening, bonding and veneers, discussed properly first. The consultation is free and nobody is sold anything in the chair.

How it works

You will know the price before you are in the chair.

1

Book online or call

Pick a time that suits you. New patients get a longer first appointment because the first one always takes longer, and pretending otherwise just runs the day late.

2

A proper look, and a written plan

Anything we find is written down with a price against it and handed to you before treatment starts. Nothing is added while you are lying back and unable to answer.

3

You decide, in your own time

Take the plan home if you want to. Urgent things we will say are urgent; everything else can wait for you to think about it.

Forty minutes, not tenLong enough to look properly, and to answer the question you nearly did not ask.
Before anything is agreed

We look properly, and you see what we see.

Images go up on the screen next to the chair and get talked through in ordinary language. If something can safely be watched rather than treated, that is said out loud — it is the cheapest advice we give and the reason most people stay.

Fees

Every price is on the website.

Not “contact us for a quote” — the actual numbers, for everything we do. If a practice will not tell you what a filling costs until you are registered, that is a decision they have made about you.

In pain?

Call before ten and we will find you a slot today.

Emergency appointments are held back every morning rather than booked out in advance, because toothache does not schedule itself.

This is an example

Everything you just clicked is real. The business is not.

Fernbank was invented, but the booking diary, the fee filters, the plan calculator all work — that is the site, not a picture of one. Yours would work the same way, with your prices and your phone number on it — for $1,000.

What forty minutes actually covers

A check-up is four things, and most of them are not the teeth.

  1. The teethDecay, wear, old fillings that are starting to fail.
  2. The gumsWhere most adult tooth loss actually begins, and it is reversible early.
  3. Soft tissueCheeks, tongue and palate. A two-minute check nobody should skip.
  4. What we foundExplained in plain words, with the photograph, before anything is booked.
Example site — Fernbank Dental is not a real practice. This is what a $1,000 website looks like.
